Probably the most popular way to load caches into GSAK is with a GPX (available to Premium Members only) or LOC file (available to everyone). These files are specially formatted data files that describe waypoints (Geocaches), tracks or routes. These files may contain the data for one or many Geocaches. Below we’ll show you where to get these files.
To load a GPX or LOC file one cache at a time:
- Visit the cache’s listing page in your browser
- Click on GPX file or LOC waypoint file
- The file will be saved to your default downloads folder
- Open GSAK
- Now just drag and drop the downloaded GPX or LOC file into the GSAK window and the cache will be loaded into GSAK
- Alternatively, you can load it by clicking on Load GPX/LOC/ZIP…
- Click on the yellow folder in the top right corner and browse to the file and click on it
- Click OPEN then OK to load the file into GSAK
- Either of these methods can be used to load Pocket Query ZIP files into GSAK
